Cross Country, Softball Guides Receive Top Honors

The 2012-13 Georgia State cross country and softball media guides earned top honors as a part of the CoSIDA Publications Contest.

A pair of Georgia State media guides were recently honored by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) in the organization’s annual publications contests. Both the cross country and softball guides ranked No. 1 in the country.

Both guides were designed by former graduate assistant Robert Carnes, with editorial help from the rest of the staff. The overall design of the recruiting section was created by Allison George prior to the start of the academic year.

Each year, sports information directors throughout the country submit their media guides to CoSIDA which are then judged by their peers. At the end of the academic year, the winners are announced at the annual meeting which was held in Orlando, Fla, in 2013.

Georgia State has 16 total sports competing for national championships in the upcoming year. Each player and coach within a sport will be represented in a digital media guide that will be available on GeorgiaStateSports.com prior to the start of that competition season. The communications office also assists with all official GSU publications including posters, schedule cards and other printed and digital material as well assisting individual coaching staffs with recruiting materials.
