Inside GSU Compliance: Let’s Get Compliant

On the second Wednesday of every month, a member of the Georgia State Compliance staff will give InsideGSUSports a look at what is going on in their department. Over the course of every month, each department will be featured at least once. Coming on Monday: Communications.

Panther Nation, as a new feature to the InsideGSUSports blog, we are excited to add a compliance component each month. Our goal is to help educate fans and provide updates with what is happening in the world of college athletics and specifically in compliance. Here, you will be able to learn about NCAA bylaws, rules interpretations, and any changes to NCAA legislation that can help make Georgia State better.

The major benefit of this blog is everyone involved with Panther Athletics will be able to expand their own understanding and working knowledge of the rules that govern intercollegiate athletics. In our posts, you can expect to see Q & A, compliance case studies, and advice, which will be an educational resource for all.

We hope everyone who reads the compliance posts will be able to apply what they have read and perhaps it will offer a different perspective on intercollegiate athletics. As Georgia State University continues to grow, we want our fan base, student body, student-athletes and supporters of GSU athletics to be educated with the rules. That purpose is only going to add to the fan experience, encourage a compliant atmosphere, and continue to push Panther Athletics forward.

The Georgia State Compliance staff appreciates all the support and interest.
