Men’s Basketball Gameday Nugget: McNeese State

Continuing a new blog feature to our site, here is today’s Men’s Basketball Gameday Nugget. For each game during the regular season (and hopefully postseason), I will try to post something that most fans would not know. Some will be more complex than others, but hopefully it will be something that if you are standing around the water cooler the next day would impress your friends.

So as the Panthers prepare to open the NIT Season Tip-off on Monday night at 5:30 p.m. in Tuscaloosa, Ala., here is your nugget:

Head coach Ron Hunter will be looking for his 39th victory at the helm of the Panthers, facing the team he earned his first win at Georgia State against on Nov. 18, 2011. In the Panthers home opener that season, GSU earned an impressive 69-50 win over the Cowboys, a win that propelled Georgia State to a school-record 11-game win streak.

Make sure to check back on Tuesday morning as the Panthers prepare for game two of the NIT Season Tip-off.
