Inside Marketing: Creating an Atmosphere

On the first Monday of every month (yes, we are a day late this week), a member of the Georgia State Markering staff will give InsideGSUSports a look at what is going on in their department.  Over the course of every month, each department will be featured at least once. Coming Wednesday: Panther Athletic Club.

Happy Holiday Greetings Panther fans,

Our women’s basketball team hosted the Georgia State Invitational this past weekend during the Thanksgiving break. The Panthers won an exciting game on Friday against Jacksonville State by the score of 65-63. With Georgia then beating Georgia Washington this set up a showdown taking on the Georgia Lady Bulldogs on Sunday. Our team fought hard and led for most of the game but eventually fell by a final score of 70-58 in favor of the Lady Bulldogs.

The atmosphere was fantastic on Sunday for the championship game and the players and coaches were very appreciative of the support.  We had great attendance and the fans were really into it. One of the most noticeable additions to the game on Sunday was that the GSU pep band was back from their Thanksgiving break. They are a great group and help make the GSU Sports Arena a tough place to play for opponents. Our team really fed off the atmosphere and you could just feel the excitement in the arena.  We also had our Teddy Bear Toss at halftime of the game and collected 25 teddy bears that will go to benefit the Nicholas House here in Atlanta.

We can’t express how much the support of everyone helped our team on Sunday and we need YOU, the fans, to help support both of our basketball teams for this season. We have some awesome promotions coming up and we hope to see you there!

RUN SBC

RUN SBC is fun play on words with RUN DMC, you know, hip-hop group of the 80’s, 90’s and into the 2000’s.  RUN referring to the fun, up-tempo style of play of running up and down the floor and the SBC refers to the Sun Belt Conference.  Get it?  Ok, here is the first look of a new poster and rollout for the New Year – Happy New Year Panther fans!

GS MBB Poster v8 LRDid you ever think you were the reason the Panthers won? Well, here is your chance to prove it! For the low price of $25, Georgia State is offering fans a ticket to every GSU home men’s basketball game during Sun Belt Conference play — that is, if the Panthers win when you are there!

Here’s how it works: We load your RUN SBC Pass for all nine home Sun Belt games on the Panthers’ schedule (starting with Troy on Jan. 2). If you attend the game and the Panthers win, your pass is still valid. If you attend the game and the Panthers lose, your pass is deactivated.

What if you don’t attend the next game at all? It’s still valid, win or lose. It only gets deactivated when you attend a loss. If the Panthers win all nine at home, you get nine games for $25. Otherwise, you pick the best games to join the action.

Got it? Prove you’re the Panthers’ lucky charm!
