Men’s Basketball Gameday Nugget: UL Lafayette

The buzz around the Georgia State men’s basketball team teams. In case you were living under a rock last week, the Panthers have been mentioned by Andy Katz, Pat Forde and had an AP feature column that appeared in places like the New York Times, Washington Post and Yahoo! Sports national. That doesn’t count all of the mentions on social media. It helps when you are the only team in the country with a two-game lead in the loss column in conference standings (no, that is not your nugget, but is pretty cool).

Thursday night’s game between Georgia State and UL Lafayette feature an all-conference first team that most leagues would be proud to have. Since we are going on the road, it is only appropriate that you read this edition of our Men’s Basketball Gameday Nugget that talks about road wins. For those just following us (and thank you for joining us), each game during the regular season (and hopefully postseason), I will try to post something that most fans would not know. Some will be more complex than others, but hopefully it will be something that if you are standing around the water cooler the next day would impress your friends.

So here is our latest Men’s Basketball Gameday Nugget.

The Panthers have won four-straight road games, matching a pair of four-game road winning streaks during the 2011-12 season. The last time the Panthers won five-straight road games was during the 2001-02 season. The school-record is seven-straight road games set during the 1999-00 season.

Be sure to come back Saturday for another Men’s Basketball Gameday Nugget as the Panthers continue their two-game road trip at ULM with tip set for 5 p.m. ET.
