Men’s Basketball Gameday Nugget: South Alabama

If you are reading this note today, you are obviously excited about the play of the men’s basketball team as of late. If you are not excited about tonight’s game against South Alabama, you have either been under a rock for the last two month’s or you might want to check your pulse…just sayin’.

Georgia State will look for its 13th-straight win tonight when South Alabama makes its way to Atlanta in a game originally scheduled for last Thursday — I told you in the last nugget that Snow Jam, the Snowapocolypse or anything else you wanted to call it couldn’t keep us down.

So with an 12-game winning streak on the line, we have a lot of options for a Men’s Basketball Gameday Nugget.

I seemed to like this one for today which comes to us from the game this past Saturday (how great was that game!):

R.J Hunter (31) and Devonta White (30) joined an elite club at Georgia State in the overtime win against UT Arlington becoming just the second duo in school history to each score 30 points in a game, joining Matt O’Brien (32) and Chris Collier (31) vs. Fort Valley State in 1989-90. That’s pretty elite company (and those were two very good players).

As a bonus, throw in Ryan Harrow’s 22-point effort and it marked just the third time in program history that three Panthers have scored 20 or more points in a game and the second time already this season.

Be sure to come back Thursday for another Men’s Basketball Gameday Nugget as the Panthers face UALR in Little Rock, Ark., at 8 p.m. ET.
