Men’s Basketball Gameday Nugget: Sun Belt Semifinals

All season long I promised to give our faithful fans a Men’s Basketball Gameday Nugget right into the postseason – well the postseason has arrived and I do not want to disappoint.

Georgia State arrived in New Orleans on Thursday afternoon and I have never seen a team so focused and loose as these Panthers. They have one goal and only one goal in mind – play their best basketball for the next 80 minutes and return Georgia State to the NCAA tournament.

So in honor of the Panthers being the No. 1 seed in the Sun Belt tournament, here is your Men’s Basketball Gameday Nugget:

Georgia State will enter its first Sun Belt tournament in more than 30 years and as the No. 1 seed. The Panthers are 5-1 all-time in conference tournaments as the No. 1 seed, winning the TAAC tournament in 2001 and falling in the final of the Atlantic Sun Conference tournament in 2002.

And since I like our fan base so much, here is a second nugget:

Senior Devonta White will start his 100th game on Saturday, becoming just the second Panther to reach that milestone.

Thanks again for all of your support this year Panther Nation and we will see you at Lakefront Arena later today.
