On the first Monday of every month, a member of the Georgia State marketing staff will give InsideGSUSports a look at what is going on in their department. Over the course of every month, each department will be featured at least once. Coming Wednesday: PAC
As the athletics calendar comes to a close for the 2013-2014 season, the marketing department is moving full speed ahead towards the new academic year. This summer and for the upcoming 2014-15 year, we are making community outreach one of our top priorities. We currently have 30 events on our community calendar through mid-August and are always looking for more opportunities to share our GSU enthusiasm in the Atlanta community.
We began on April 26, at “The Taste of East Point.” We were able to talk to close to 2,000 people and gave them information about our upcoming football season. We also had a drawing for football tickets and sideline passes which became the hit of the event. We will continue this week when we visit the Gwinnett Braves for education day on May 8. We are hoping to use this event to meet several educators in Gwinnett County and a large number that are venturing from the Atlanta area so that we can forge new partnerships.
Other notable events this summer that we will have a presence at are Mableton Day on May 17, Atlanta Streets Alive on May 18, and the Atlanta BB&T Open on June 19, 20 and 22. We will also be at several food truck events throughout the Dunwoody and East Point communities.
We will be continuing our partnership with the Atlanta Braves and will have a presence at their games on Saturday, July 26, and Wednesday, August 13. We are always looking for new events and if you have any that you would like to see Georgia State Athletics be part of please let me know. I can be contacted at (404) 413-4179 and Phendricks1@gsu.edu.
If you plan on being at any of these events or others that you see our athletics staff attending please come and say hello! We would love to take pictures with our #PantherFamily.
