Inside Marketing: Preparing for Military Appreciation Day

On the first Monday of every month (we moved some things around this month), a member of the Marketing staff  will give a behind-the-scenes look at what’s going on around its area and the department. Over the course of every month, each department will be featured at least once. Coming Wednesday: Compliance

This is an exciting week for us as we get to work with a special group of individuals, our military. We are very blessed to live in such a great country and are excited to give a little back this week as our football team takes on Air Force.

The Air Force will be celebrating its 67th Anniversary as a part of our game. More than 1,200 military personnel and veterans are already confirmed just through the Wounded Warrior Project and Robins Air Force Base. We are expecting many more than that in terms of fans of all of the service academies and other groups in attendance.

We will also have Air Force Commanders and a Two-Star General flying in from Washington D.C. as a part of the festivities. Prior to the start of the game, we will unveil a 30-yard flag on the field and have a special national anthem and color guard presentation with the Air Force. We are also proud and humbled to recognize all GSU alums, students, faculty and staff who are serving or who have served in the military. Many of those individuals and local JROTC programs will take part in presenting the flag.

We encourage all fans to arrive early to be a part of this special day which will be presented by Parking Spot.

The GSU bookstore is also scheduled to have special t-shirts for sale to honor the game.

It is going to be a special day so we hope that you will come out to support Georgia State football and all of the military who make living in the U.S.A. so special.
