Inside the Panther Athletic Club: Year-End Giving Challenge

On the first Wednesday of every month, a member of the Panther Athletic Club staff will give a behind-the-scenes look at what’s going on around its area and the department. Over the course of every month, each department will be featured at least once. Coming next Monday: Ticketing.

Year-End Giving challenge

Did you know $5.7 million is the annual cost of student-athlete scholarships paid by Georgia State Athletics?  Panther Athletic Club membership gifts defray the cost for student-athletes to earn a college degree and to compete athletically for conference and national championships.

Last year during the months of November and December, Georgia State Athletics raised over $50,000 for Georgia State student-athletes.  Your gift through a Panther Athletic Club membership directly impacts our student-athletes.  As we near the end of 2014, we invite you to help us reach our goal of raising $75,000 during the months of November and December to fund three student-athlete scholarships.

How You Can Help Us Reach Our Goal

  1. Give from now until the end of December online at or by calling 404-413-4126. You may also mail gifts to Intercollegiate Athletics/Panther Athletic Club, P.O. Box 3975, Atlanta, GA, 30302.
  2. Share the below video with family, friends and colleagues and encourage them to give to Georgia State Athletics.

Important Dates

  • November 13, 2014– Georgia State University Giving Day- Last year, $20,000 was raised for Georgia State University during Giving Day, making that the largest community gift in Georgia State history. Help us exceed that by giving on November 13th.
  • December 31, 2014– Deadline for year-end gifts to receive a tax deduction for 2014. Gifts that are postmarked by December 31, 2014, but received after the new year will still receive a tax deduction for 2014.

*Please make checks payable to: Georgia State University Foundation, For/Memo: Panther Athletic Club
