Men’s Basketball Number of the Game: 13

Georgia State continues its 5-game, 10-day road trip against Western Carolina on Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. ET on the second day of the CBE Hall of Fame Classic in Rochester, Mich.  Make sure to listen to the game live on 1340 The Fan 3 with Dave Cohen and Brandon Leak calling the action.

Georgia State opened the event on Monday night with an impressive 69-46 win over Chicago State. It was so impressive, that it led to today’s number.

As you know, running through the entire season, the InsideGSUSports blog will present the Number of  the Game, a quick number and explanation of its significance before tip-off.

The number will come from a variety of different places, but will always be significant to the team or that specific game.

Tonight’s Number(s) of the Game:

Head coach Ron Hunter has continued to preach that for the Panthers to be successful this season, the defense needed to improve. Well, on Monday night it improved, holding Chicago State to just 13 points in the first half. It was the fewest points allowed in a half since giving up 13 to William & Mary in 2011.

Come back Wednesday before the Panthers continue the CBE Hall of Fame Classic in Rochester, Mich., taking on host Oakland at 7 p.m. ET. The game will air live on ESPN3.
