Saturday will be a busy day on and off the court at the GSU Sports Arena. The Panthers host UL Lafayette at 2 p.m. in a rematch of last year’s Sun Belt championship game. Before the contest, R.J. Hunter will be honored for tying the school’s all-time scoring record held by Rodney Hamilton of 1,515 points.

At halftime, all former men’s basketball players will be honored on the court. Players from the 1960’s to recent graduates will return to be honored and cheer on the Panthers.

If you can’t make it, be sure to listen to the game on 1340 The Fan 3 or 1230 The Fan 2 as Dave Cohen, Rodney Turner and Brandon Leak call the action. Fans can also watch the game live on ESPN3.

As you know, running through the entire season, the InsideGSUSports blog will present the Number of  the Game, a quick number and explanation of its significance before tip-off.

The number will come from a variety of different places, but will always be significant to the team or that specific game.

Today’s Numbers of the Game:

600

Georgia State has made at least one 3-point field goal in 599 straight games, dating back to the 1994-95 season, meaning the first 3-pointer today will give the Panthers on in 600 straight games. The last team to hold the Panthers without a trey was Stetson on Feb. 18, 1995.

Make sure to come back on Thursday as the Panthers travel to Texas to face UT Arlington at 8:15 p.m. ET.
