Each week on Monday, we take a quick look back at the past seven days to review some of the highlights of stories in the media for Georgia State student-athletes, coaches, administrators and, like you’ll see this week, occasionally our university leadership. Sports Illustrated – Unbroken: Kevin Ware rebuilding his hoops career away from the spotlight
Long before his fractured shinbone appeared live on national television, Ware found out that life will force you to improvise. He was an all-state guard for Rockdale County High in metro Atlanta, the kind of player who tomahawk jams on one play and gets a chase-down block on the next, and coaches lined up with scholarship offers.  Read more

NBC Sports – Former Louisville guard discusses reasoning behind transfer to Georgia State
Last spring, guard Kevin Ware made the decision to transfer from Louisville and ultimately wound up at Georgia State where he plays for head coach Ron Hunter Sr. Of course Ware became a national story as a sophomore at Louisville, when his season came to an end in the first half of their Elite Eight win over Duke due to a broken shinbone suffered challenging a Tyler Thornton three-pointer. AJC.comR.J. Hunter Makes History and Georgia State Wins
R.J. Hunter became Georgia State’s all-time scoring leader midway through the first half and the Panthers defeated Louisiana-Lafayette 75-64 on Saturday at GSU Sports Arena. Ryan Harrow led Georgia State with 19 points, but Hunter, who finished with 13 points, was the story. Read more
