Men’s Basketball Number of the Game: 6

Georgia State continues a stretch of three-straight games on the road Saturday at South Alabama. The Panthers had their four-game winning streak snapped on Thursday night, so I guess it means it is time to start another streak. If you can’t make it to the game, be sure to listen along on 1340 The Fan 3, 1230 The Fan 2, or on the GSU mobile apps as Dave Cohen calls the action.

As we like to joke on the radio broadcasts, several Panthers have destroyed the record section of my media guide this year (and that is a great thing). Today’s number is another that we have been following closely all year.

As you know, running through the entire season, the InsideGSUSports blog will present the Number of  the Game, a quick number and explanation of its significance before tip-off.

The number will come from a variety of different places, but will always be significant to the team or that specific game.

Today’s Number of the Game:

6

Junior R.J. Hunter needs just six more 3-point attempts to tie Shellord Pinkett (1994-98) for the most 3-point attempts in school history. Pinkett finished his four year career with 637 attempts and also holds the record with 240 3-pointers made. Hunter is quickly closing in on that record as well.

Make sure to come back next Saturday as the Panthers close a stretch of three-straight road games at Texas State, a game that will air live on ESPN2 at noon ET.
