GSU Athletics will be volunteering and participating in the 2015 Be Healthy Georgia Festival & Family Fun Run on March 7.

On March 7 before everyone’s energy turns to the Sports Arena for a highly-anticipated showdown on the hardwood with Georgia Southern, many staff members, coaches and student-athletes from the Georgia State Athletics Department will be on hand to volunteer and participate in the ‘Be Healthy Georgia Festival & Family Fun Run.’

Healthy Kids Georgia promotes and supports healthy, active lifestyles to combat childhood obesity. The program, which is an initiative of Lt. Governor Casey Cagle, will host the festival and fun run in the new Liberty Plaza at the Georgia Capitol. There will be vendors and group activities for children of all ages and a mascot dance-off following the one-mile fun run (ages 7 and older) and kilometer kids dash (for children 6 and younger). The events start at 10 a.m.

Fans of all ages are encouraged to join the fun around the capitol that day before heading over to support the Panthers. For more information on the event and Healthy Kids Georgia:
